Made purely of large, furry buds from 200-year-old trees, this cheerful tea exhibits notes of caramelised yam and sweet potato.

Why we love it:

• It's comprised purely of large buds, covered in a thick layer of fur. The buds are the most prized part of the tea plant, with the highest concentration of nutrients. And the fur gives the tea a delicate sweetness, soft texture and low astringency.
• It's harvested from 200-year-old assamica trees that grow tall with thick trunks. Harvesters have to climb the tree to reach the new buds.
• It's a recently invented tea, as most black teas are made of leaves, not buds. Because the buds are covered in fur, they don't turn fully brown when oxidised, thus the golden colour.
